This communication is an appreciation letter after the conclusion of our visit, organized by you and Chengdu Bamboo International Tours Co, Ltd.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. All the people involved gave us a warm welcome and professional attention, making our visit as pleasant as possible.

The preparations for the trip went smoothly and on time. Our special wishes were all addressed and accommodated. Of course, doing all the business online requires a certain trust, and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent.
This was my second trip to China, and my expectations were high. After all, China is a great country, and the blend of old and new, and the rapid changes of the last decade, made it an absolute new experience.

All our guides, Andie in Beijing, Maria in Xian, Shimmi in Chongqing, or Morgan in Shanghai, gave us a personal welcome and knowledgeable tours. Although all our drivers were doing admirable jobs, I would like to commend Mr. Zhang in Beijing for taking special care of us from and to the airport and railway stations.
The Yangtze River Cruise through the Three Gorges was another highlight. 

Not surprisingly, but annoying was that our American iPhones were not on the network in China. Also, on Wi-Fi, Gmail and WhatsApp were out; only Messages worked. Notifications gave a hint about incoming Gmail, which could not be read.
Especially, all my communications with the travel company were via Gmail and the latest information, the final confirmation letter with the train tickets, came so late that I missed it before arriving. It showed up in my Gmail account on 10/27/25 after the trip. Please consider using Messages to communicate in addition to Email.
Fortunately, our guides could provide the “missing” train information.
We were lucky that all went smoothly, but in an “emergency" I would have been unable to call. Locals were helpful, but communication was an issue.

Altogether, we fully recommend your service and your company for anyone seeking a China visit.

The announcements were made unexpectedly and loudly in our room. We could not turn them off or lower the volume. Some announcements were even after 22:00, with a sleeping baby. Would be good to have an option to turn off the announcements in the room.

Yes, we made it home safe and sound. The cruise was fun. I would have sent you updates but my WeChat was blocked the day we were cruising through the gorges. I asked the cruise director to help me unblock it but it didn't work. Can you try to help me please? It needs to be someone who is a friend and meets the conditions below. If you're willing to do this, please give me your phone number.

The staff on the cruise were fantastic; very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, a good size and well finished. My wife felt hot during the night as the aircon came on and off. When we reported this to the crew, they did their best to sort it out first by checking that the balcony doors were closed. When this did not solve the problem, they brought a fan for us. The food was tasty and plentiful. Seats in the dining room were assigned and we sat at a table with 3 other independent traveller couples. They were interesting and it was nice to get to know them during the cruise.

The highlight for me was going through the gorges. Unfortunately it was raining while we went through the Qutang Gorge but it was still impressive to watch from our balcony. By far the best excursion was Shennv Stream. The others were extremely loud and overcrowded; no surprise as it was Golden Week. Our guide to the Tribe of three Gorges, Sunny, was great. It was disappointing that we had to disembark in Fengdu because the river level was low. It certainly was low and we had been warned. But that gives us a reason to go on another cruise! Would October be a better month? Although before we do that, I'd like to visit Zhangjiajie.

Overall, the organisation was very good, nice staff as I've said, and we were kept informed all the time. I read a book about the Yangtze during the cruise and leant a lot about the history of the area. I'd definitely recommend it to others. I've attached a photo of the Century Paragon

It was simply amazing and phantastic. I will certainly recommend this tour to others. We had a great great time and were treated like VIP. The todays stop at the dam was not too good the other side direct at the dam would be better, but this is only a minor thing. Our tour guide on board Summer was excellent!!!!

We very much enjoyed the cruise thank you. Especially made welcome by Austin on the boat who looked after us English speakers extremely well. The room was comfortable and all the activities very appropriate and well organised. We also used the swimming pool on the boat twice or more times.

The documentary about the three gorges shown in the cinema the night before our visit there was excellent in helping us to understand what happened with the dam. It could have been better publicized but we managed to get there and really enjoyed. However the visitor site of the dam needs to have more English captions for us to really appreciate. We were surprised how little English translation there was at the biggest dam in the world.

The place where you embark on the boat in Chong Qing was more difficult than I had imagined - there was nowhere really to park. Not sure what you could do as a solution for that?!

We all arrived home safely on late Thursday evening 8 June.

Overall it was an interesting and enjoyable holiday for us. We all had a wonderful time on the cruise. From cleanliness of rooms to meals arrangements and entertainment programs it’s a thumbs up from us.

Dear Rita,

During this hard period of time in CHINA our hearts are with the people of CHINA. We listen and watch the news and are deeply sorry for the terrible events in Hubei Province and we see with big sorrow the empty streets in Beijing and many other cities. We are positive that the Chinese medical system together with the people will overcome the Corona virus Disease, but the cost of lives is very high. We see that many people are afraid to go out of their homes, schools are closed and also all public places. Tourists are not coming, which is very bad for the Chinese economy.

My wife and myself love CHINA and the Chinese people. Although we do not know the Chinese language, we have found that we can quite easily communicate with the people in the street, in the train stations and in various places we have visited. The people are very helpful, trying to assist give direction and answer questions.

We are sure that we shall visit CHINA soon. My wife has visited China 6 times. I have been to China many more (over 30). First time in 1992.

We wish you Happy New Chinese Year. We hope life will soon get to normal. We wish you and your family, friends and co-workers in your company to be in good health and happy in the days to come.

The cruise experience exceeded our expectations. We upgraded to executive suite at acceptable price with more spacious room at Level 5 and other privileges including VIP restaurant, free 24 hrs lounge access and free laundry. The cruise manager Jeffrey was very attentive and other staffs are helpful.  The excursions were well organized and the local guides spoke good English.

The cruise was excellent with the onboard services (food, accommodation and services) to a very high standard. We had some excellent weather that made the scenery that much more spectacular. I would certainly recommend the Century Paragon to any of your clients.

The cruise was fantastic. Definitely a highlight of our three weeks in China.
We were extremely impressed with the service provided to us. Our travel consultants handled all queries in an efficient and professional manner.

They were quick to answer questions, and any concerns were addressed in a prompt manner.The cruise was very good. The Century Paragon ship was clean and well maintained. The cruise manager, Jeffrey, had a fantastic sense of humour and glowing personality. The staff throughout the ship were friendly and attentive. The post-dinner events each night were entertaining. The shore excursions were interesting. It was helpful having tour guides communicating with us in English, however some of the guides were less than confident in their English-speaking abilities, and we did not get the same information that was being given to the Mandarin speaking guests. The cruise photographers were able to capture a lot of good memories.

I would not hesitate to recommend your company to friends and family. The service provided was friendly, helpful, and of a high standard.
