Maoping Port Guide

During special events, Maoping Port (茅坪码头) in Zigui County (秭归县) will serve Yangtze River cruise travelers for disembarkation on the 4th day of a downstream cruise and embarkation on the 1st day of an upstream cruise, instead of Yichang New Century Port (新世纪码头) and Taohuacun Port (桃花村码头).

Special events usually occur for the following reasons:

  • • Maintenance of ship locks;
  • • Flood and water shortage periods;
  • • Waterway regulation;
  • • Terrible weather;
  • • ……

And in 2017, Maoping Port will be used during Jan. 30th and April 30th.

Please note:

During the whole 2017, all Victoria cruises will port at Maoping for the embarkation of an upstream cruise and the disembarkation of a downstream cruise. That is because the relatively smaller victoria cruises are going to try the new experience of the Three Gorges Dam Ship Lift that is the largest and most sophisticated ship lift in the world.
