Yichang No.9 Dock & Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort

Location: No.142, Yanjiang Avenue, Wujiagang District, Yichang City (宜昌市伍家岗区沿江大道142号 - 宜昌九码头/三峡旅游度假区游客中心)

Yichang No.9 Dock is used for only Yangtze 1 Cruise under Changjiang Cruises. The dock is located in downtown Yichang, only a few steps walk away from the Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort (which used to be known as the Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal). The Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort is the main tourist center for getting on and off the transferring buses arranged by cruise company.

2024 Latest Port News for Embarkation & Disembarkation in Yichang:

In the whole year 2024, travelers touring Yangtze River (Chongqing Yichang Part) with Yangtze 1 cruise will depart from or arrive at Yichang No.9 Dock (宜昌九码头), while all the other cruises, including Century Cruises, Victoria Cruises, President Cruises, Yangtze Gold Cruises, Yangtze 3 and Yangtze Explorer, will arrive at or departure from Maoping Port (茅坪码头).

Downstream - Disembarkation in Yichang

For downstream cruisers (Chongqing->Yichang), after disembarking the ships, you will be taken to visit the best highlight of Yichang, the Three Gorges Dam Site. After the excursion, the same tourist buses would transfer you to the Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort for disbanding. (Reference Time: 12:30/13:30)

(Exceptional: If you are going to take the Yangtze 1 cruise, you will sail through Xiling Gorge and Gezhou Dam on the fifth day and disembark directly at Yichang No.9 Dock around noon.)

Upstream - Embarkation in Yichang

For upstream cruisers (Yichang->Chongqing), all luxury Yangtze cruise companies offer free shuttle bus service to transfer their guests to Maoping Port from two places safely, the Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort and Yichang Tourist Information Centre at Yichang East Railway Station, during 17:30~20:00 (Time may vary slightly during the off-season). After arriving at the two places, you should find the counter or desk to change the shuttle bus ticket first, then follow the staff to the parking lot to take shuttle bus to the cruise terminal - Maoping Port. Reaching the terminal takes typically 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

(Exceptional: If you are going to sail with the Yangtze 1 cruise, you should arrive at Yichang No.9 Dock between 18:00 and 22:30 to board the ship.)

How to Get to Yichang Ports

There are three common ways for tourists to get to the correct ports to board the ship: by private car, by cruise company-arranged bus or by taxi. Hi, we are hoping to depart the downstream cruise and catch a train to Wuhan for a flight. We cannot find where the cruise terminal is in order to see how long it will take us to get to the train from the cruise terminal. The train leaves from Yichang East Station. Can you please advise

Since you take downstream cruise and you’ll depart at Yichang Three Gorges Cruise Terminal (宜昌三峡游客中心) around 12:30 or 13:30 and its address is No.142, Yanjiang Avenue, Wujiagang District, Yichang City (facing Yichang Wanda Plaza) 宜昌市伍家岗区沿江大道142号. The distance between Yichang Three Gorges Cruise Terminal and Yichang East Railway Station is about 9~12km, taking 25~30 minutes’ driving.

We are boarding Victoria Jenna in Yichang on 19 Apr 2018. Can you please advise where Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal is. Is it at the dock or is it in the town for a shuttle to take you to the dock.

Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal is at Yichang Downtown area, and the detailed address is at No. 142, Yanjiang Avenue, Wujiagang District, Yichang City (facing Wanda Plaza) 宜昌市伍家岗区沿江大道142号(万达广场对面). It is about 15 kilometers to the New Century Port at the suburb of Yichang. You could take a local taxi to get to the port for about 30 to 40 minutes. Also, you could take a local bus 103 and 10-1 to get there for about 1.5 hours. Besides, if you want to arrive at the port with speed and convenient without waiting for the vehicle, you could choose our local transfer service, and the charge is reasonable.

I understand you only response to questions related to Yangtze Cruise. But, being overseas travellers, we hope you would help to find out for us the contact telephone number of Agent in China (say, Shanghai, Beijin etc.) who handle Royal Caribbean Cruise to go on board "Quantum of the Seas" in February 2018 departing Baoshan, Shanghai. I search website but could not find answers to my queries. I really hope you would render your assistance in this aspect.
Also, would the Travel Agent in China help Chinese nationals to apply for Visas to go to Japan at a fees ?

Century Paragon Cruise - Yangtze 3 Gorges

We are booked for Century Paragon Cruise. Are we to get on board the cruise in Taohuachun Port ?
Is it convenient to get taxi from Crown Plaza Hotel to Yichang Taohuachun Port ?
& when we side bark Century Paragon in Chongqing, are taxis available from Port to J.W.Marriott hotel ? What are the taxi fares ?

Thank you for the question. Yes, Century Paragon cruise use Taohuacun Port for embarkation and disembarkation in Yichang city. And taking a taxi from Crown Plaza Yichang to Taohuacun Port is very convenient since there are not many buses to the port, and the driving time would be about 40 to 50 minutes for different routes of about 13 to 17 kilometers, and it may cost about 25 to 35 Chinese Yuan. When in Chongqing, you could also take a local taxi from the Chaotianmen Port to J.W.Marriott Hotel, which needs about 20 minutes for about 3 to 4km and would cost about 10 Chinese Yuan. But the fee would be higher especially when there are traffic jams.

New Century Port to Yichang Railway Station

I am confused. Per 'Yichang Port Guide' , it takes 15 minutes from New Century Port to Yichang Railway. Yet when I go to maps.google.com and enter '1 Jianshe Road, Xiling District, Yichang' (location of New Century Port) and to 'Yichang Railway Station', I got 1 hr 16 min. What am I missing? I intend to take the Oct 25 Gold 6 Chongqing to Yichang and once arrived at Yichang, catch the train to Zhangjiajie at 13:13. I will already have a paper ticket at that time. Will I make it assuming it only takes 15 minutes?

Thank you for the question. Good to know your cruise in October. Yichang Railway Station is about 10-20 km driving distance from Yichang downtown for three different routes, which takes 25-40 minutes to arrive at by the local taxi according to the time and traffic conditions. You could use the updated new address: New Century Port, Yiba Road, Xiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province (湖北省宜昌市西陵区宜巴公路新世纪码头).
Usually, Yangtze Gold cruise ships dock at Yichang New Century Port at about 12:30 in the noon, and it is recommended to arrange your train to Zhangjiejie departing from Yichang after 14:30 on your disembarkation day in Yichang since you need time for disembarkation, waiting for the vehicle and other steps for catching the train.

Since for Yichang to Chongqing Yangtze River cruise, Century Paragon docks at Yichang Taohuacun Port (桃花村码头) that is about 20 kilometers away from Yichang East Railway Station and usually needs about 40 minutes to arrive from the station by taxi. If your train arrives at Yichang East Railway Station, you would arrive at Taohuacun Port at around 19:00 by taxi, during the boarding time. If you want to transfer without hurry, you can change a train arriving in Yichang earlier before 17:00 in the afternoon. Besides, you can book our local transfer service, which lets you save the time for waiting the vehicle and finding the way.

For all Yangtze Gold cruises, the terminal for embarkation and disembarkation in Yichang is the New Century Port, which is about 11.5 kilometers away from Yichang Railway Station. Since the port is a little far from the city center, there are not many public buses to the port, and the local taxi that can take up to 4 passengers is a good way to transfer from the railway station to the port, which will cost about 15 minutes and about 25-30 RMB.
