The River Boat was the President Yellow Crane, the cabins were surprisingly spacious and comfortable, we had a room with a king sized bed and a small balcony, the bathroom was also small but adequate.Cabins were cleaned daily.
The scenery was absolutely stunning, as we travelled through the 3 gorges. There were tour guides pointing out things of interest all the way along the river, it was extremely well organised.
We had various excursions from the boat, one on a sampan which was fantastic (if you get the opportunity don’t miss this one!) along the Shennong stream. Another excursion to the 3 gorges dam project which was interesting but I felt we spent a bit too long here.
The food on board was some of the best we had in China; there was always plenty of choice. There was also some entertainment on board in the evening which was very pleasant with singing and traditional dancing. All the staff on board from the tour guides to the waitresses in the dining room, were so friendly and welcoming. On the whole a very good experience which is not to be missed.
