From Guilin to Yichang via Wuhan

And the most convenient and time saving way during shoulder seasons is to first fly to Wuhan city and then take a bullet train from Hankou Train Station (汉口站) to Yichang. 1). Fly from Guilin to Wuhan

There are only about 3 flights every week between Guilin and Wuhan, mostly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The flights from Guilin to Wuhan run during about 08:30-10:00, those from Wuhan to Guilin during about 19:25-21:00. Also, you could also choose other Guilin flights that need transfer or stop at another city before heading to Wuhan.

2). Bullet train from Wuhan to Yichang

After arriving at Wuhan airport, you could transfer to Wuhan Hankou Railway Station that needs about 30-40 minutes for about 23-25 kilometers by taking a taxi. There are a lot of G-trains and D-trains running from Hankou station to Yichang East Railway Station from the early morning till the night, and the train usually needs about 2 hours from Wuhan to Yichang.

Tips for flights and trains

For travellers taking the upstream cruise from Yichang to Chongqing, the gathering time for the arranged tourist bus to the port is during 16:00-21:00 and the boarding time begins at around 18:00, so it is advised take a train arriving at Yichang East Railway Station before 16:00 in the afternoon. Therefore, you are also suggested to book a Guilin flight landing in Wuhan before 12:00 or even earlier.

And for guests booking the downstream cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, you would arrive in Yichang city at around 12:30-13:30 according to the ship itinerary, so you could arrange a train from Yichang to Wuhan departing after 15:30 and a flight from Wuhan to Guilin taking off after 19:30 or even at night. And if you are not in a hurry, you could also stay the night and the next half to one day to discover the highlights in Wuhan city, such as the Yellow Crane Tower, Hubei National Museum, and so on.
