Yichang – Chongqing Yangtze River Cruise

4 Days Yichang – Chongqing Yangtze Upstream Cruise is a much more leisurely cruise that takes in the most scenic parts of the Yangtze, while allowing plenty of time for relaxation and onboard activities.

Yichang – Chongqing Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arriving in Yichang, the tour guide from your booked travel agency will pick up you at Yichang Sanxia Airport. You will board at 15:30, and then have a shore excursion to the world-famous Three Gorges Dam from 17:30 to 19:30. Later, the Captain' s welcome Cocktail Party will be held, and you are invited to join in.

Day 2: Today will start with shore excursions to Three Gorges and Shennong Stream. About 10:30 assemble and disembark at Badong, for a sampan river ride drifting along the Shennong Stream. The stream water is crystal clear. On both sides of the stream are rolling mountains, astounding precipices and exotic flowers and herbs in brilliant colors. As the mountains on both sides quickly pass and the stream roars around you, you will find that this extraordinary experience is one that you will never forget! At 14:00, get offshore and continue the Three Gorges passage with the dramatic grandeur of Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, framed by steep lofty peaks and historic sites such as Ancient Plank Road, Mengliang Stairway, Goddess Peak, Gold Helmet and Silver Armour Gorge etc.

Day 3: After breakfast at 9:00, the last part of your Yangtze cruise is a morning excursion to Shibaozhai (Precious Stone Stronghold). Shibaozhai is nine-storey red architecture, clings on the precipice resembling a jade hill. Back on board and have lunch. The sailing continues to pass through the mountains of Eastern Sichuan.

Day 4: After breakfast, relax and pack your bags with leisure. The estimated arrival in Chongqing is 9:30. Our guide will meet you on board and a city tour to Chongqing Museum and the Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell will be offered. See off.

• Fengdu Ghost City –"City of Ghost" due to the mountain Ming Shan dedicated to the afterworld with statues of ghosts and devils as well as graphic wax depictions of life in hell.
• The Three Gorges–The river snakes through the triad, Qutang Xia (gorge), Wu Xia and Xiling Xia, which are phenomenal, extending nearly 120 miles through sheer precipices interspersed with wide valleys.
• Qutang Gorge–The shortest, rockiest and most narrow of the three
• Wu Gorge–Sail around the twelve peaks of the Wu Mountains, creating a diverse and whimsical landscape
• Xiling Gorge–Known for its uniquely shaped rock formations with quirky names like Ox Liver, Horse Lungs and Yellow Cat. This used to be the most dangerous part of the journey before rocks were removed in the 1950s.
• Lesser Three Gorges - Cruise up the Daning River past the cliffs of Longmen Xia and wild monkeys
• Three Gorges Dam –This marvel of engineering is harnessing the power of the Yangtze for energy and curbing the river's tendency to flood. Unfortunately the project has also caused the relocation of thousands of people, the moving and flooding of numerous cultural sites and environmental damage
