Chongqing to Shanghai Yangtze River downstream cruise is the longest line along China Yangtze River. Day 1

After arriving in Chongqing, you will be met at Chongqing Airport by your tour guide (your booked travel agency). You will have one-day Chongqing tour, sightseeing the Chongqing Zoo, Residence of General Joseph W. Stillwell. You do not have enough time to visit the Dazu Rock Carvings and the Ci Qi Kou Village because of the time limits. You will stay at one of the hotels your travel agency has arranged for the night.

Day 2

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will board your Yangtze cruise ship, which will depart Chongqing at around 11:00 am. In the afternoon, you would have a shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City, and the Captain’s welcome Cocktail Party will be held tonight.

Day 3

Today is the essential part of your Yangtze River cruise, because you will appreciate the unique scenery of the Three Gorges – Qutang Gorge, the shortest but grandest one, Wu Gorge, famsous for its lofty peaks and mountains on both sides, and Xiling Gorge, the longest one of the three. Shore excursion to the Lesser Three Gorges on the Daning River will be your pleasant experience.

Day 4

Today, you will visit the world-famous Three Gorges Dam Site at Sandouping Village.

Day 5

You cruise ship will stop at Wuhan to have a city tour. Wuhan is a beautiful modern and historical city.

Day 6

You will have a whole day excursion to famous Huangshan Mountain in Anhui Province. Huangshan Mountain is famous for its unmatched scenery, the odd-shaped pines, the craggy stones, the clouds of sea and the limpid hot-spring.

Day 7

Today, we will stop at Nanning city, where you can visit the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Confucian Temple.

Day 8

You will finish your Yangtze River cruise in Shanghai at 10:00am, and there is local tour guide arranged by your travel agency to meet you on board. You will have a one-day Shanghai tour.

Day 9

In the morning, you will check out your hotel, and depart from Shanghai, which is decided by your personal schedule.

  • Fengdu Ghost City –"City of Ghost" due to the mountain Ming Shan dedicated to the afterworld with statues of ghosts and devils as well as graphic wax depictions of life in hell.
  • The Three Gorges–The river snakes through the triad, Qutang Xia (gorge), Wu Xia and Xiling Xia, which are phenomenal, extending nearly 120 miles through sheer precipices interspersed with wide valleys.
  • Qutang Gorge–The shortest, rockiest and most narrow of the three
  • Wu Gorge–Sail around the twelve peaks of the Wu Mountains, creating a diverse and whimsical landscape
  • Xiling Gorge–Known for its uniquely shaped rock formations with quirky names like Ox Liver, Horse Lungs and Yellow Cat. This used to be the most dangerous part of the journey before rocks were removed in the 1950s.
