Terms and Conditions

Thanks for visiting www.yangtze-river-cruises.com, we acknowledge that you read and understand the terms and conditions of this website. We have provided terms and condition in other to keep this web site working well for everyone. Please read all terms and conditions before using this site. Usage of the site shows agreement with the term. We hope you enjoy the site and looking forward to serving your travel needs.

1. Reservation

  • 1) Upon receiving your booking request, one of our experienced travel consultants will start to assist you in building a pleasant travel plan according to your special requirements and interests within 23.5 hours.
  • 2) Upon the receipt of your payment, we'll start the booking immediately. 
  • 3) It is highly recommended that your tour reservation be made 30 days (or more than that) prior to the actual traveling date. 
  • 4) When your booking is confirmed, we will send you a confirmation letter informing you with the proposed flights, hotels, and tours in details. If any conditions should change after the confirmation, www.yangtze-river-cruises.com reserves the right to make changes and provide you with the similar alternative options.
  • 5) Please note: special terms may apply in some promotions. Refer to details of terms and conditions which are shown on the certain pages of promotions.

2. Payment

We accept 3 of following payment methods:

  • 1) PayPal (you can pay through even without having a PayPal account)
  • 2) Wire transfer (bank transfer);
  • 3) Western Union transfer.

Detailed payment guide will be sent to you via email by your travel consultant.

* Important note about the exchange rate:

  • 1. Reference exchange rate: please refer to BOC EXCHANGE RATE.
  • 2. The quote we provide is in Chinese currency-RMB, the equivalent quote in USD is based on current exchange rate between the RMB and the USD.  The quote we provide in USD is subject to slight change due to the fluctua

3. Cancellation and Refund

We would feel sorry if you decided to cancel your trip to China, however we realize that the majority do so out of necessity.

  • Situation A: The cancellation of the ONLY cruise booking varies to different ship company’s policy, it can be complicated, you may inquiry our travel consultant for the cancellation policy of your specific booking.
  • Situation B: If you book a China tour package with the Yangtze cruise in between, in any case you must cancel your trip, please submit your cancellation in written form. Cancellation refunds will be calculated as of the date we receive your written cancellation.

All payments for travel services not provided to the passenger shall be refunded in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with www.yangtze-river-cruises.com's cancellation policy:

Refund Details: (Note: this cancellation charge is only applicable to the above Situation B)

  • 1) Cancellations made no less than 30 days prior to departure---full refund but charge $100 administration fee per person 
  • 2) Cancellations made between 30 to 15 days prior to departure --- full refund but charge $200 administration fee per person
  • 3) Cancellations made between 14 to 7 days prior to departure will --- refund 65% of your payment 
  • 4) Cancellations made between 6 to 0 days prior to departure --- refund according to the actual situation (Your China trip includes Yangtze River cruise and there will be no refund for any cancellation prior to 7 days before cruise departure. But we'll try our best to reduce your loss.)
  • 5) After the trip has commenced, we are unable to refund any amount for unused services (may include but not limit to hotels, air or train tickets, meals, admission fees) due to your early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.

4. Eligibility

Children below the ages of 18 require permission from their guardian before making a reservation. We recommend that a notarized letter be written by the parents or non-traveling parent granting authorization to travel including the dates of travel. We also suggest that you contact the appropriate consulate and airlines because they may have additional requirements.

* An infant is defined as anyone who is under the age of 24 months for the entire duration of their trip.
* A child is defined as any one between the 24 months and 11 years for the entire duration of their trip.

5. Participation of Program

yangtze-river-cruises.com and suppliers contracted for services reserve the right to refuse to accept or retain any person whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operations of a tour, or adversely affect the enjoyment or safety of other tourist.  A lot of activlies are prepared for you, here listed several featured onboard activities. Also various kinds of cultural activities are held on board, such as Tai Chi Learning, Cabaret Show and so on.

6. Alteration of Itinerary

Before your booking is confirmed, alterations to your itinerary are happily processed free of charge, because providing the best tour possible for you is our goal , visitors only need to pay the loss or additional cost caused by the changes of tour items or travel dates.  Please kindly note that all changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com reserves the right to modify the itinerary of your tour if air schedule or surface transportation changes, and/or events beyond its control make such alterations necessary. In this event, any of the increase or reduction of the tour cost will be calculated and charged/ refunded accordingly. If it is you who request the changes to your tour, then you will be required to pay any additional cost in advance.

7. Travel Document

A passport with minimum of 6 months validity is required for passengers traveling to all countries in our program. Responsibility for documentation accuracy, passport validity and dispatch of documents rests with the client. www.yangtze-river-cruises.com accepts no responsibility for any failure in this respect. Clients must clearly provide their last names and first names on passport; otherwise we have no responsibility for any delays, transport failure. And your insurance documents are also necessary, or we cannot regrettably provide services for you.

8. Luggage Allowance

According to the regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the free baggage allowance within China is 20kg (44pounds) for the economy class, 30kg (66pounds) for the business class, and 40kg (88pounds) for the first class, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of yours. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.

9. Medical Issues

You must advise us in writing, at or prior to booking, of any physical, emotional or mental condition which may require professional attention during the trip or may require the use of special equipment. If you require a wheelchair, you must provide your own small, collapsible wheelchair (actually many Chinese hotels provide wheelchair service for free, but some charge certain cost). Certain features, and certain trips, are not wheelchair-accessible. We cannot guarantee any wheelchair assistance or accessibility in international destinations. www.yunnan-tours.com reserves the right to decline any trip participant whose condition, in our opinion, may affect the health, safety or enjoyment of other participants.

We cannot accommodate women past their second month of pregnancy.

You should take into account all international travel risks and familiarize yourselves with health requirements applicable to the areas you intend to visit. You are solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of governments in countries you are going to visit or transit.

Travelers to Tibet are required to provide a doctor's certificate stating that the he/she is fit to travel and his/her blood pressure and heart condition are normal in case that the very high altitude have the possible effects on certain people.

It is the clients’ responsibility to avail them with information regarding health requirements in the intended country of entry. You should speak with your local GP or department of health about any health recommendations. Clients are required to familiarize themselves with any health requirements specific to the countries being visited. 
And we are supposed to be informed if any client has past their second month of pregnancy.

10. Insurance

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com will carry out tour services after making sure you are properly insured. It is required that you should purchase proper travel insurances before leaving your home country to cover a wide range of unexpected loss and damages.

11. Responsibility

The responsibility of www.yangtze-river-cruises.com and its affiliated companies is strictly limited. www.yangtze-river-cruises.com shall not be responsible for any wrongful or negligent acts, omissions, or failure to act of any suppliers such as those of surface, air, and water transportation, sightseeing excursions, cruise/hotel accommodations, or of any third party not directly owned or operated by www.yangtze-river-cruises.com. By utilizing the travel services of the Suppliers, you agree that you will look to such Suppliers for any accident, injury, property damage, or personal loss to you or to those traveling with you, and that neither www.yangtze-river-cruises.com nor any representative of www.yangtze-river-cruises.com shall be liable.

Without limitation, www.yangtze-river-cruises.com is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, delay, or inconvenience in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from--but not limited to--acts of God or force majeure, acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of accommodations, mechanical or other failure of airplanes of other means of transportation or for the failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time, sanitation problems, lack of medical care, or for any other cause beyond the direct control of our company. Nor is www.yangtze-river-cruises.com is responsible for the stolen and loss of your valuable items due to your own negligence.

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com is not responsible for your failure to comply with customs regulations.

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com reserves the right to substitute hotels of similar quality at any time or to make changes in itinerary of similar quality, flights, or cruise ships, or to cancel the tour prior to departure. If our company has cancelled any tour prior to the commencement of the tour, we are liable for a full refund of the money received by www.yangtze-river.cruises.com. If you purchase an airline ticket separately, ensure that your agent explains the conditions under which the ticket is issued as www.yangtze-river-cruises.com is not responsible for such airline ticket cancellation fees.

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com the right to correct promotional or pricing errors at any time, or to increase the program price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, cruise fares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases, taxes, or fuel surcharges. 

Please understand that not all museums and attractions are open every day of the year. www.yangtze-river-cruises.com reserves the right to vary the sequence of sightseeing and/or to re-route the order of cities if that will enable you to visit all listed excursions. In either case, the itinerary content will be maintained to the extent possible and there are no refunds for any unused or unavailable excursions.

Many of www.yangtze-river-cruises.com tour packages include activities that require care attention. Such activities include boarding and going ashore from boats, climbing hills and entering and exiting tombs and caves etc. You will receive help and advice from our representatives but all activities are undertaken at your own risk. www.yangtze-river-cruises.com, its employees and agents cannot be responsible for any action or event that occurs after its employees and agents have exercised their duty and taken the necessary care.

12. Force Majeure

Compensation payments do not apply where performance of our contract with you is prevented by risk or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, technical problems to transport, closure or congestion of airport or ports, cancellation or change of scheduled airlines and similar events beyond our control.

13. Limitation of Liability

www.yangtze-river-cruises.com (here with called the Company) acts as a coordinator for all persons taking theses tours, in the making of all arrangements for transportation, sightseeing and hotel accommodation. The Company does not own, manage, control or operate any transportation vehicle, any hotel, restaurant or any other supplier of services. All soupcons receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the supplier and all services are subject to the laws as an agent for the owners contractors and suppliers of transportation and/or other related travel services provided and assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage to baggage or property, no responsibility for any injury, illness or death, no responsibility for any damages or claims howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly from accidents, loss, or damage to person or property, no responsibility for delays, transport failures, strikes, wars and uprisings or acts of God, etc over which the Company has no control.

14. Complaints and Claims

Whenever you feel unsatisfied with any service our company has provided, please inform your local tour guide or your travel consultant immediately to avoid similar problems happening again either before or during your trip.
If you want to complain or claim for compensation, you must inform us by email, regular mail, or facsimile in writing within 30 days upon your finish of your tour. Please attach relevant receipts and substantiating evidence to the letter of claim. www.yangtze-river-cruises.com will not be liable for any claims made later than 15 days after you finish your tour.

15. Communications

Whenever you need any help or want to contact us for any reason, please feel free to contact Yangtze River Cruise customer service center at info@yangtze-river-cruises.com or phone listed in your confirmation letter.

Our company reserves the right to modify or rescind the terms and conditions in whole, or in part at any time with or without notice.
