Location of Chongqing Airport
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is located in the Lianglu town in the Yubei district of Chongqing, about 23 kilometers away from the urban area. (Click here to see the location map of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport).
Chongqing Airlines
There are 58 domestic and foreign city connections in Chongqing International Airport, and 70 foreign and domestic airlines operate scheduled flights to Chongqing. All the capital cities of China have connections to Chongqing except for Hohhot in Inner Mongolia. There are direct flights to Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Tokyo, Nagoya, Bangkok and Munich.
Where to Book Tickets
Tourists can buy the tickets on at the ticket office at No.161, Zhong San Road. (Click to see where to buy your plane ticket). They sell the tickets from 07:30 to 20:00 every day. Besides, travelers also can book a ticket in your hotel, because many hotels offer the ticket booking service.
Shuttle Buses
Outside the terminal building, tourists can take the airport buses to Chongqing downtown directly, and a one-way ticket for the bus is 15RMB per person. The airport buses generally run from 06:00 to 21:00 with an interval of 30 minutes, and finish at Chongqing center, in front of the air ticket office at No. 161, Zhong San Road, at Shanqing Temple.
If you prefer to take taxis, you may pay approximately 100RMB.
Chongqing Other Airports
There are also two small airports in Chongqing except for Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport: Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport and Qianzhou Zhoubai Airport.
Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport is located in Wanzhou District of Chongqing city, built in 2000 and opened in 2005. It was the first airport built in the Three Gorges Dam area, which have attracted many tourists to have a visit. There are flights to Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Kunming, Yichang, Xian, etc.
Qianzhou Zhoubai Airport, located at Zhoubai Town, Qianjiang District of Chongqing city, was opened in 2008. It is planned to be developed into an international airport in the near future.
